No one in the world could anticipate a birthday like a kid does.
And just like any red-letter day on our calendars, like weddings and debut celebrations, kiddie parties are also starting to embrace the trend of experimenting with various themes. Through the years, kids have enjoyed parties inspired by cartoons, fairytale princesses, anime characters and fantasy creatures.
But now, birthday parties are stepping up to a whole new level. Parents are now discovering more and more ways on how they can make their kids' parties both interactive and instructive at the same time.
Make your kid's birthday a memorable learning experience for them and their friends by planning the kind of party that they will not forget: Art parties.
Painter's Party
Highlight a kid's party by engaging the kids in a day of colors, drawings and artwork. Start off by sending artsy invitations to give the guests an idea of the theme. For the party, provide Art tools and materials such as brushes, paint and paper for every kid and have them work on subjects they like. An art teacher could be an alternative for a party host. They can snack along while doing their masterpieces and having a cozy time with every kid in the party. Perfect for kids between 5 and 7 years old.
Story-telling Sleep-over
Done best for kids whose age ranges from 7-10 years old, this type of party could unleash the artistic side of children by having them and their guests come in their choice of costumes and spend the night with story-telling and play-acting. Reinvent a traditional party by putting up a mini-stage that could serve as the theater for everybody's performance. Amp up the theatrical ambience by installing a sound system and lights. Ideally done on night time, kids could also spend the rest of the party by watching their favorite flick on DVD, perfect with popcorn, of course.
Baker's Bash
Kids with a knack for food and hearty appetites might want to have a party where they could be bakers for a day. Set a kitchen outdoors for the birthday celebrant and his/her friends and provide a variety of ingredients where they could prepare the food themselves. Instead of party hats, chef’s hats could elicit a cooler attitude for kids to really feel their culinary experience. Specifically, they could decorate a cake or mix a drink or even create their own recipe of a salad. This would not only give them a nice time with their friends, but could also give them a sense of accomplishment when they make their own culinary masterpiece.
Kiddie Concert
Bring on a rocking party by setting up a musical-inspired birthday where kids can play along to some music. Have little instruments that they could play on. Hold up a stage where they can also be performers to showcase their talents and skills. The birthday celebrant could select a genre of his/her choice to specify the party's main theme, and could also invite his/her friends to give a number for the party. Prepare party games that have everything to music, or modify traditional party games where they could still be musically inclined. The guests could be asked to dress in accordance with the musical motif.
