Top 10 Kiddie Party Themes in the Philippines

By N. Auditor

With all the kiddie party accessories available these days, planning themed kiddie parties has become a real piece of cake. Party planners now have a wide array of kiddie party accessories to choose from, such as loot bags, hats, toys, decorations, balloons, name tags and even giveaways. Listed below are some of the most popular kiddie party themes in the Philippines.

Disney Princesses

A favorite among girls, this theme allows kids to play the part of the different Disney Princesses by dressing up in gowns and trinkets. For decorations, hang star cut-outs from the ceiling and lay down a red carpet near the entrance to make the kids feel like royalty. Sprinkle glitters and confetti on the tables and chairs to add some extra shimmer to the venue. While waiting for the other guests to arrive, kids can sit down at their tables with Disney Princess coloring books and crayons to busy themselves.

Hawaiian Luau

This unisex party theme is enjoyable for both kids and adults. A beach setting can be applied to the venue by creating an ocean backdrop, complete with plastic palm trees and a bubble machine. Since the Hawaiian Luau is best held outdoors, a barbeque would also go well with this, to give parents a chance to interact with one another. Kids can dress up in Hawaiian shirts, grass skirts or bathing suits, with matching leis draped around their necks.

Justice League

Preferred mostly by boys, the Justice League party theme lets kids dress up in superhero costumes like Superman, Aquaman, Batman and Wonder Woman. Fill the kids’ Justice League loot bags with action figures, stickers and candies. It’s also a great idea to print out coloring pages or connect-the-dots sheets and lay them out on each party table as an additional activity.

Mickey Mouse

A Mickey Mouse kid’s birthday party can be relatively easy to plan. Hand out Mickey Mouse ears headbands or paper hats at the start of the party. Multicolored balloons shaped like Mickey Mouse can be found at almost every party accessories shop. Mickey Mouse shaped pastries like cupcakes, tarts and birthday cake are also a great idea to remain consistent with the theme.

Arts and Crafts

Planning a kiddie party that brings out the creativity in kids is also a great idea because they can work on activities together, allowing them to interact in a fun environment.

Decorate the venue with paper stencil cut-outs hanging from the ceiling, hand-made confetti and multicolored streamers. Cover party tables with blank sheets of paper and provide each table with a box filled with various coloring materials like as crayons, colored pencils, colored papers, poster paint, glue and scissors. Give out plain white shirts for a tie-dyeing activity. Kids can be given aprons or smocks as soon as they arrive to avoid getting paint and dyes on their clothes.

Barney

Barney is also a popular unisex birthday party theme. There are a lot of Barney themed party accessories that can be bought from party planning stores like plates, party hats, cups, banners and loot bags. Use purple and green streamers and table mats for additional decorations. Barney themed cakes (flat and tiered) can be ordered from most cake specialty shops. Use activities and games borrowed from the show itself to entertain kids during the party, including an “I love you, you love me” sing-a-long.

Lion King

Celebrate a kiddie party safari style by doing a Lion King theme! Kids can dress up in khakis or as their favorite animal. Another option is to hire an artist to do animal face paints for the kids, with matching animal ear headbands. Party games can include a contest on which animal can growl the loudest. If outdoors, place tiki torches to add light to the venue. Animal print balloons, a rare find, are great additions to this theme.

Hello Kitty

A long time favorite among girls, Hello Kitty is also a kiddie party theme that is a lot of fun to plan. Hello Kitty loot bags, party hats, banners and balloons can be found at almost any party planning store. Match food ware by getting Hello Kitty napkins, paper plates, cups and utensils. A Hello Kitty-shaped cake can also be ordered at almost any specialty cakes shop. For party favors, fill guests’ loot bags with Hello Kitty accessories like stickers, stationery, erasers and pencils.

Ben 10

This kiddie party theme is one of the more futuristic and adventurous themes where kids can either dress up as Ben 10 or an extraterrestrial. Decorate the venue with green and yellow streamers and balloons, the color theme of the cartoon show. Arrange a treasure hunt for the kids where their mission is to search for the hidden alien pod and the winner gets a Ben 10 action figure as a prize.

Pool Party

If planning a kiddie party in the summer, throwing a pool party is definitely the most fun for kids. Get inflatable rafts for kids to float on, beach balls to toss around in the pool and water guns to play with. Serve all-time summer favorites like nachos, ice cream, lemonade and jello for snacks. For party favors, you can give out functional summer items like flipflops or sunglasses.

With party planning, especially children’s birthdays, the possibilities for throwing the best party for your kids are endless! Play around with concepts and think of unique activities and party favors that your kids and their friends will enjoy the most.
